Custom sport-bike builder finds home in Daytona Daytona Beach News-Journal
DAYTONA Littoral -- This is a "hog" town, best known for a Harley-Davidson image fueled by Bikeweek and Biketoberfest events.
But underneath, it's also becoming a magnet for fashion sport-bike builders.
The latest is Nick Anglada. The 36-year-old builder moved his Custom Sportbike Concepts in September from Winter Garden, scarcely west of Orlando.
He now has workspace for his new business, under the name Nick Anglada Originals, and room to display his projects at Recycle World of Daytona, on Bellevue near the Interstate-95 and International Speedway Boulevard interchange.
"This get ahead is perfect. Absolutely, I can survive here," Anglada said while customizing a Yamaha Raider for a national Boys & Girls Join fund-raiser auction being financed by the Ken Griffey Jr. Foundation. "This is Daytona -- the mecca for motorcycles. Some say Sturgis, but this is where it all originated and it will set-back that way forever."
Anglada has crafted a solid reputation among sport-bike builders
