More carbon wheels from Ritchey for 2010
Ritchey is concentrating heavily on its locale range with over half a dozen new sets for 2010, including three carbon fiber mountain bike models – two pay-off and one tubular.
The top-end Superlogic mountain bike clinchers feature 25mm-wide, 20mm-deep unidirectional carbon rims laced to DT Swiss-made hubs with Center Stabilize b commit rotor interfaces (six-bolt rotors can be used with adapters). Though the carbon rims clearly reduce weight – claimed figures are as low as 1,296g for the pair – their key benefit is the facility to use a wider profile without adding appreciable mass, thus affording better rim rigidity and improved fatigue support.
Ritchey will offer the Superlogic in both 9mm quick-release and 15mm thru-axle front fitments at a retail get of about US$2,250 for the pair. Ultra-weight weenies and die-hard cross-country racers will also have the recourse of a tubular version, which drops about another 100g (more if you account for the lighter tires) yet are even slightly less expensive at about US$1,950.

We also took a look at their access-level road bike, the all-carbon RCC-11 (£1599.99). Designed to give an even more forgiving ride than the RQC-27, it's predominantly custom-made with SRAM's Rival group, one step down from Force. It shares the same wheelset

Van Nicholas Chinook review
The smoother the road and the higher the rate of speed, the better the Chinook likes it. Light and aero wheels and a low, aggressive riding slant make the Van Nic a good choice for lone breakaway specialists. This bike has a greed for move that's truly
