The queueAmtrak service between Seattle and Leavenworth is aboard the Empire Builder , the cross-country followers between Seattle (and Portland) and Chicago. (Separate trains go east from Seattle via Stevens Pass and from Portland via the Columbia River Gully, merging into one train in Spokane). After the train leaves Seattle, you can board in Edmonds and Everett, too.

Train leaves Seattle for Leavenworth at 4:40 p.m. daily, with a scheduled arrival of 8 p.m. Westbound, the tutor is scheduled to depart Leavenworth at 6:08 a.m. and arrive in Seattle at 10:25 a.m. daily.
Fare
We paid $40 orb trip for midweek coach tickets, but prices will vary depending on demand and time of tour. Fares will be as low as $36 round trip, with an average of $55.
Traveler's tips
• There is no lounge car serving drinks and snacks on the Empire Builder between Seattle and Leavenworth. The cocktail lounge car separates from the westbound train at Spokane and goes to Portland. A dining car offers formal dining and also sells a secondary selection of snacks, coffee and soft drinks for consumption in coaches. Make reservations for dinner after you enter (dinner entrees: $12.50 to $22.50). No reservations required for breakfast. Breakfast service ends at 7 a.m., so font for the dining car as soon as you board at Leavenworth.
