Stewart wins 2010 US Open of Supercross Motorcycle.com
The aid main event proved to be more of a challenge for Stewart who found himself stuck in the middle of the pack early on.
Reardon took the holeshot but destroyed the lead to Monster Energy Kawasaki s Ryan Villopoto later in the first lap. Villopoto looked to be making up for his sorry result the night before when a mechanical failure ended his race after eight laps.
By mid-race however, Stewart had made his way back to the leaders, passing Reardon for support on lap four. Villopoto and Stewart exchanged the lead on lap 10 before Stewart found the advantage and pulled ahead for the win.
The U.S. Available seems to offer up more bar banging than any other race, and its always a good time, says Stewart. That was the first time that Ryan (Villopoto) and I have raced since the Vegas Supercross in May, so its unsociable to get back out here to rub some elbows. The new bike is awesome, too! I felt like I was underneath everybody in all the corners and it all just came together for me. Ryan was riding in reality well, but I just stayed patient and snuck by for the win.
